I've been sick the last few days. Nothing serious, but it's contagious so in the interest of not begin patient zero at work, I've been working from home. I used to to it all the time, and I'm trying to sort out how I ever managed it. The flexible schedule is nice, but it's a bit jarring when you realize it's 4pm and on top of not having showered or eaten anything all day the only person you've talked to was the guy who sold you coffee at the bodega. And he didn't even say anything back. It gives me new appreciation for parents who stay home with their kids, because on top of that being a full-time job, you have to deal with a crazy person bent on destruction all day and you don't even get to have any adult conversations.
