See Me
In grade school the worst thing your teacher could write at the top of your test or homework was, "See me." Always in red ink, often ending in an exclamation point. And why all the red ink? Didn't these teachers understand that we respected their expertise enough that they didn't have to turn our math tests into a murder scene? Entire generations have aversions to red ink. I still remember one "see me" test, where I got every math question wrong because I had confused the greater-than and less-than signs. I explained to my teacher that I knew which number was larger, you'd have be an idiot not to know, I just made a mistake. We didn't need to set aside office hours and a barrel of red ink for this one.
