Don't Look Up Deer

I took a hunter's safety class a long time ago and the instructor once said to me, "Deer don't ever look up. Or at least most of the time they don't bother to look up." I thought it an interesting piece of information that would probably never come in handy, trivia, in other words. And I still haven't had cause to use this tiny bit of knowledge, though I have spent idle time pondering whether or not it's true. I haven't see all that many deer in the wild. The few occasions I have seen them they didn't stick around long, or at least not long enough for me to study their habits. Perhaps the best thing you can say about this bit of trivia is that it's hard to disprove.
