Growing Accustomed
I'm an ace at adapting. I can get used to almost any noise or odd situation and grind it out with barely noticing what's amiss. It's fantastic for noisy neighbors since I never feel compelled to yell at them, but bad for my house in general. For example, right now there's a rolled-up poster sitting right next to my desk. I set it here back in December intent on buying a frame and hanging it, but I got used to having it there. It's become a part of the landscape and I'm not much compelled to do anything about it. This wouldn't be a problem if it was just the poster, but there's also a bike in the living room and stacks of old mail and random bedding around the house. One day I should get one of my friends to come into my house and throw away everything that's sitting around when I'm out. I might notice it was missing the first day, but I'd get used to it.
