It's always easier to pick out the worst than the best. For example, it would literally be impossible for me to name the best song in the world, but I can say with a high degree of certainty that We Built This City on Rock and Roll is the worst song in the world. I couldn't tell you the best coffee shop in the world, but I could tell you that this one truck stop in Kansas has the worst coffee. I'm not sure why it's so much easier to pick the losers than the winners. It would be easy to argue that I'm a cynic, but I think it's more a matter of infinite hope. Holding out for the next best thing that's just around the corner, and assuming the worst is behind us. Really, how much worse could it get than We Built This City?
