I've been wearing the same shoes for several years. Not the same pair, but when one pair wears out I buy the exact same color, size, and style and wear those. They're timeless in the way that Ray-Bans, Chuck Taylors, or desert boots can be. But what's not timeless: a guy getting older and wearing the same shoes every day. It reminds me of a guy I used to see walking a few times each week. He wore a black leather motorcycle jacket, jeans, and big black motorcycle boots every day. I always wanted to yell, "Why you walking? Where's your Harley?" as I rode past. Today, someone could do the same to me, but they'd yell, "Why you walking? Where's your skateboard?" To which I'd have to reply, "In my closet, I used it 6 months ago to move a couch."
