Soap Opera James Bond

James Bond is a lucky guy. Anytime he gets old or slows down a bit, they pop a new younger guy in there to takeover. It reminds me of when I used to watch soap operas with my mom when I was in grade school and stayed home sick. Occasionally an actor would leave for a better job, and they'd replace the actor with someone who vaguely had the same look, but it was an obvious change. The first time I saw it happen I was outraged that anyone could overlook the new person, and I felt the same way about Bond the first time I saw one of the movies without Timothy Dalton. I'm no longer outraged that they swap out actors, but it does bother me that people pretend like the Bond movies are any better than soap operas.
