Tree Fire

Apparently it's a Swedish tradition to put lit candles on your Christmas tree. I found this out the other day while sharing a story about how my old boss tried to get rid of his Christmas tree by burning it in his fireplace. He was lucky to find out how fast the fire department can show up at your house. I would have loved to have been in that room when they arrived. He was lucky they used the door to enter his house. I don't know if there's any truth to the Swedish tradition of the lit candles on Christmas trees, and a perfunctory search online doesn't pull up too many hits. This gives me great hope for the future gene pool of the Swedes.
