Bus Seat Logic

If two elevators arrive at the same time is it rude to get in the empty one? I look at it as a courtesy, but I understand why someone might be put off. The I'm-not-good-enough-for-you mentality. It's the same logic that angers you when there are no more double seats available on the bus and as people file on they double-up on every seat but yours. Sure, it's nice to have your own space, but you're open to sharing, too.
