Reading the Obituaries

How is the obituary section of every newspaper not three inches thick? There are so many people in the world that millions of them must be dying every day. I know that newspapers only publish local deaths, but with the population boom in recent years you have to figure the obits will just get bigger and bigger. It'd be funny if paying for obituaries saved newspapers in the same why that Craigslist killed them by taking their revenue from classified ads. The circle of life.
