A lot of people I know have old advertisements framed on their wall. Large, stylized painting ads for things like Chambord or other liquors. An old journalist I used to work with was really disgusted by this. I suppose he thought people would be better off hanging posters of old news articles on the wall. I wonder if 50 years from now, people will be hanging ads on their wall for the original Mac or Coca-Cola. If they do I hope I'm not around to see it, it was bad enough the first time. The only good old ads are the ones where people are saying or doing things that today we find really offensive. It gives you a nice feeling of superiority over our predecessors. But no one I know hangs offensive old ads in their homes.
