American tourists have a bad rap. I'm sure you all know someone who's even gone as far as to sew a Canadian flag on their backpack while traveling around. It's a ruse I never bothered with. By mere virtue of not being an overweight guy wearing a loud flowered shirt, I like to think that I did my job spreading goodwill to the other inhabitants of Earth. It will take ages for Americans to get rid of this notion that we travel poorly, perhaps it will even take interstellar travel. We need some tourists from other planets that we all think are jerks to help us get over ourselves.
