During my first year of college we dragged a couch from someone's room into the elevator late at night and rode up and down for about an hour. We saw at least a hundred people, and among that entire group only two people complained to us. Today I found myself wondering what those two people do now and if they're happy with their lives. We would have ridden for hours, but one of the resident assistants who watched our floor came and told us we had to get out. We asked why and the best he could do was to tell us it was a fire hazard. We pointed out that people use the stairs in the event of a fire but moved along anyway. Now I'm wondering what that resident assistant is doing in his life.
