Crazy Wild

I had the good fortunate to take a trip to the Galapagos Islands. It's unlike anywhere else in the world. The equatorial archipelago is almost entirely undeveloped, and the animals there are very strange -- they have never developed an instinctive fear of humans. They ignore you. Birds will perch on your camera, sea lions will swim up to you to see what you are, and iguanas will crowd the hiking path and not clear out when a group walks past. It's a magical feeling seeing wildlife like this in Galapagos, but only in Galapagos. Near my apartment there are a lot of squirrels that have also never developed an instinctive fear of humans, but no one would describe encounters with those things as magical.
