It's the worst when you respond to someone's question or comment off the cuff and the second you finish speaking you realize you came off sounding really snotty, but that's the last thing you meant to do. "What kind of shoes are those?" "Vans." "I really like them, I used to wear them when I was 12." "Yeah? I never stopped." Whoops, didn't mean it to sound like I was trying to imply that I'm somehow more core to my roots than you. I was just trying to say that I'm a deadbeat.
