Are You Lost?
I was standing on the corner with a blank look on my face holding a non-descript paperback that could have easily been mistaken for a guidebook or translation book. I'm not sure how long I was there, but it was long enough for the old lady to walk all the way across the street to me. I actually saw her earlier and thought that maybe I should offer her a hand crossing the street, but I would personally find it offensive if someone asked me if I wanted help getting across a busy street, so I mostly leave people alone. The old lady roused me from my reverie by saying, "Excuse me son, are you lost?" I jumped a bit at her voice, almost like I'd been sleeping instead of thinking and replied: "Ahh, I'm trying to decide where to go for lunch. I'm so sick of all of these restaurants." I wish I could say that she told me about an awesome cheap and healthy restaurant that I'd never heard of in the neighborhood, but she only said, "Good luck."
