There are few things better in life than getting to stay home sick when you're in 4th or 5th grade. My parents both worked so I'd get to stay home by myself. I had a sick day ritual: the Star Wars trilogy and possibly Ferris Bueller's Day Off if I'd left myself enough time. I wonder what kids do these days with all six Star Wars movies? All of our Star Wars movies had been taped off of TV, so sometimes there would be commercials in them when I'd forgotten to pause the tape during recording. The best part of the TV version of The Empire Strikes Back was that they'd filmed a special intro in which Darth Vader bursts into the regularly scheduled TV to announce that the Galactic Empire is going to take over earth. I watched that video so often that I'm still a bit put off when I watch the modern version and the intro and commercials for local appliance stores aren't part of the film anymore.
